Worship Me, 2020
Photo series, ceramic.
Worship Me is inspired by old Greek myths of goddesses and mythical creatures. Through this photographic series I urge you to question who we worship. What do contemporary goddesses look like?
Why does the art world still see Greek and Roman art as the beginning and epitome of beauty?
I portrayed my queer friends, people who are normally not worshipped in Western narratives, but who I do worship for their courage and endless questioning of the self.
Worship Me was shown in a duo show “Game of Graces” at Dyad (Amsterdam, NL. 2020) together with Rixta G. van Meulen.
And at “De Grote Keramiek Show” at Art Castle No Limits, Sexyland World. (Amsterdam, NL. 2022).
